The story

This is Pesto & More, a pocket foraging guide written by me and illustrated by zine-maker extraordinaire Juliette Patissier.

After we met at one of my foraging workshops in 2023, this little passion project was born. The goal? A foraging guide to our favorite wild plants of Berlin, with both excellent, accessible identification tips AND high-quality, exciting recipes.

More than pesto

So Pesto & More was born: a set of cards to help you identify and cook with seven delicious & abundant plants of Berlin and beyond, each of which you can use singly or all together in an absolutely fire pesto.

But pesto is really just the beginning here. Each card also includes an out-of-the-box recipe for that plant, from nettle mac and cheese to ground elder chimichurri and wild onion caviar.

We also have many more sets planned and already in the making. Together, they'll act as a modular foraging field guide, so you can mix and match them across the seasons. Stay tuned for the next one!
